I’m extremely ambivalent about this. I’m a paid subscriber and have been following you and encouraging others to read your reporting since the Texas Observer days.
Billionaires ruin everything - not just MAGA billionaires. JK Rowling is the only one I know of who does actual good. Would I be banned from Ghost for saying this, or for criticizing other billionaires like the Pritzkers and John Stryker? I suspect I would be. I won’t be following you there unless I can be assured otherwise.
As a longtime leftie, I’m disconcerted by the abandonment of free speech by what I regard as my side. I’m also getting tired of the discouragement of discourse and increased use of buzzwords like “MAGA” (short for people it’s important to hate) in place of a more detailed, factual elucidation of the horrible times we’re living through.
I hope I’m wrong and that Ghost is a better place than I think it is. If not, I will genuinely miss your writing. What you do is very important.
Good luck and please consider a way to reach the rest of us who find ourselves increasingly outside your circle.

Ghost is just a platform that will allow us to have an independent news site. If you've followed my work as long as you have then you know I'm not someone who is into discouraging debate or resorting to buzzwords instead of reporting the facts. I would like to, but will have to see. I won’t support any platform that doesn’t allow me and others to speak freely.
