Listen now (40 min) | The Tohono O’odham leader and thinker describes the May 18 killing of Raymond Mattia and the long context of border militarization that led to it.
If Raymond and the other victims families are vocal why no input from them? Also, there are vocal community members from this community that know first hand what the community has to deal with when it comes to Border Patrol. I’m from this community, I can confirm that the community members are harassed by the Border Patrol and that all cell phone conversation are listened into by Border Patrol - it’s a well known fact that even our phone conversations are not private. The Border Patrol use the excuse that it’s U.S. Federal Land before Tribal Land, therefore, gives them the right to basically do what they want without repercussions.
I would love to connect with you and/or other members of the community. Is there any way I can contact you? Or, if you wish, you can contact me at this email: toddmemomiller@gmail.com. I would love to come out to the community, talk to people, and maybe do a bigger article...

Horrifying Border Patrol racial profiling!
Border Patrol agents are trained to shoot 2x (often called a double tap), then reassess the threat. This was definitely an “overkill.”
thanks for that additional detail, Jenn.
A sad commentary on BP racism.
You are in "tall cotton" (as they say in Alabama) with Steev working with you. Give him my best regards.
Will do Steve, and nice hearing from you.
Thank you. Can this be presented to mainstream news. So important
Thanks, Susan. There are journalists from more mainstream outlets on our subscriber list. So hopefully it's already happening!
