One of the nation’s top immigration scholars cuts through the crap and lays bare this moment of border and immigration control, how we got here, and where we’re headed.
Turning Fear into Cash...it's what they are doing... using dehumanizing " aliens" and scary words.." invaders". our " leaders" have succeeded in convincing Americans that a 849 billion dollar militarized US - Mexican border is the only thing that will keep them " safe"..😨🇺🇸🇲🇽
Full stop. I could not get past the first paragraph. It is irritating that people/experts insist on the narrative that all immigrants are criminal. Words are taken from speeches and conversations and expanded to fit the narrative that anyone who believes in border security are dupes of the extreme right wing of Christian Nationalists, who are secretly Nazi fascists. There, now with that absurd hyperbole is put on the shelf let us instead talk factually. Nobody believes that all immigrants are criminals. Nevertheless, the elite of the Democrat party push that narrative into the collective group think of liberal pundits and sober bystanders such as myself are bombarded with rhetoric that we don't believe to be true. There are however, over 2 million immigrants who crossed into the country illegally, without proper documentation. That is a violation of law not only in this country but for nearly every country in the world! Now that makes 2 million people in criminal violation of the law. For many of them that is the extent of their criminal actions. But within that number are many thousands who are criminals and predators. Also within that number are the thousands of women and young girls who are trafficked into slavery. The South American gangs are not school boys helping little old lady's across the street. They are violent predators. I kindly ask why the reporters do not provide in-depth reporting on them in order help clean up all of the left and right fear mongering about immigrants? I wish I could be that person.
Not sure what to tell you, Mike, if you couldn't get past the first paragraph. But César, who is interviewed here, tackles this subject thoroughly and insightfully. If you read on or listen to the podcast you'll also see he wrote a book about it.
I know a teacher who says her kids are showing up with air tags on. What hell is this ?
Not sure, haven't heard anything about that. Yikes.
Her kids that are Latino. And many students are staying home.
