If you want to learn about border technology, listen to this conversation about a new book on surviving migration in the age of artificial intelligence.
This gripping conversation shared with Gila Mimbres Community Radio, Silver City, New Mexico listeners yesterday on Tuesday Morning Beat, and as always full credit to you, Todd and Melissa, independent journalists at the BorderChronicle.com .
Hey Todd! It'd be great if you could upload this to the regular server... that'd make it easy to listen to it on my phone. I'm super excited about the episode
Todd: In your research of the new tech on the border, have you come across anything having to do with tunnel prevention. I ask this because today, for the 2nd time during my tours, I have come across CBP guys doing something involving driving sensor stakes (for lack of a better word) into the area where Chapo did his first tunnel (Douglas/Agua Prieta). These guys had a lot of electronic equipment and told me not to get close to the "force field" (their words). When asked questions they answered with shrugs---obviously not at liberty to tell me anything. It all seemed quite secretive. Thanks for the Petra interview.
Hmm... haven't come across anything recently. However, that tunnel tech is something I've heard mentioned many times over the years, mainly from CBP/Border Patrol... I'll bet that's what it is. And super interesting on the term "force field". I wonder if that's what it does??? Or if that is the proper name? I'll keep an eye on this and thanks for the update, Keoki.
Wow
